Toledo Youth Dies in Crash - Motorcycle hits side of truck
A Toledo youth was killed Friday when his borrowed motorcycle slammed into the side of a semi-trailer truck on U.S. 20 a mile east of Perrysburg.
Stephen A. Leybourn, 19, of 2727 Sandalwood Dr. was killed when his cycle left a driveway and collided with the truck driven by Gary Frye, 25, of Silva, NC.
State patrolmen from the Walbridge Post said that the Leybourn youth was riding a motorcycle owned by Raymond Sherman, of RD 1, Perrysburg.
Dr. Herman Mannhardt, acting wood county coroner, said the youth died from compound skull fractures.
Born in Patras, Greece, young Leybourn lived in Toledo most of his life. He was graduated from Bowsher High School in January and planned to attend the University of Toledo in the fall.

Surviving are his parents Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Leybourn; brother, David W. at home; and grandmother, Mrs. Ann S. Dever, of Jacksonville, Florida.
The body will be in the Witzler-Shank Mortuary, Perrysburg, after 6 tonight. Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in the mortuary, with private burial Monday in Toledo Memorial Park.
The family requests that any tributes be in the form of contributions to the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Maumee.
