MICHAEL PALICKI - HE FOUGHT THE GALLANT BATTLE
Michael passed away on March 18, 1998 at the age of 49. He suffered for many years from muscular dystrophy, a clotting disorder, and diabetes. His weakened body is now restored and he is soaring in heaven with the angels.
Michael was a 1967 graduate of Bowsher High School and attended the University of Toledo for two years.
Michael loved his job at Columbia Gas of Ohio. Despite his illness, Michael wanted to work as long as he could. He set a goal of 25 years, which he met in January of 1994. He was very proud of the gold ring he received from the company. A few months later, he went on long term disability at the age of 45.
Michael was a family man in every sense of the word. He was actively involved in the Indian Guides program with both of his sons for eight years. Big Wild Fire (Michael's Indian name) was on the Council and served as assistant chief for three years. Little Wild Fire and Little Wood Chuck (his sons) enjoyed many wonderful activities and campouts with their father.
Michael played on the Trinity Lutheran softball team for thirteen years prior to coaching youth basketball at the YMCA for six years. He coached Little League baseball for seven years for both the Heatherdowns League and at the Rec Center. After Michael was physically unable to coach anymore, he then was scorekeeper and statistician for another baseball team for several years.
Michael will be greatly missed by his wife and best friend of 28 1/2 years, Margie; his sons, Allen and Wesley also mourn his passing. Also surviving is his mother, Elenor and loving in-laws Arthur and Mabel Schultz. He was preceded in death by his father, Edmund, and his sister, Marie.
Margie wishes to thank Dr. Thomas Tafelski for his compassionate concern at the difficult time of decision. Thanks also to the 5 CD nurses, respiratory therapists, and aides for their wonderful care while Michael was at MCO. But most of all, words cannot express the gratitude felt towards Hospice of NW Ohio for their overwhelming total support of both Michael and Margie.

Celebration of Life services to be held Friday at 3 p.m. at WPOS Radio Station, 7112 Angola Road, Holland. Dinner to be served following service.
The family suggests memorials to Parents Helping Parents or to Hospice of NW Ohio.
